"Banlaoch" is a Gaelic word that translates to "female warrior" or "heroine".

We reimagined four powerful Celtic goddesses for the present day—bold, raw, and unapologetic. Each figure stood 2 meters tall, printed on towering boards with scannable QR codes that dive into their fierce, often gritty stories. These women weren’t gentle spirits—they were warriors, queens, and rule-breakers. The Banloach Brief brings their legacy back into the spotlight, with a modern edge. The Godesses were temporary but will be returning in summer 2026.

The mural on Central Avenue in Bangor looks over the Bryansburn Road, one of the main roads into the City. The Ogham reads MNA which is Gaelic for woman. Kate said ‘it felt fitting for this brief. The women’s centre wanted more female representation and now WOMAN is the first thing you see’
